National CLC LogoMiddleton and Rochdale City Learning Centres enhance learning across the whole curriculum by providing teaching and learning opportunities for pupils and staff; delivering services and outreach support for a wider network of local schools, providing a range of 'extended-school' activities for pupils; acting as test beds for innovation and new ways of teaching and learning; cascading best practice amongst the local network of schools; offering professional development and training to teachers, consultants and school support staff and linking with other facilities including the network of specialist schools. The CLCs also offer opportunities to the local community and local business to utilise the power of ICT.

Established in 2002, the CLCs are adjacent to Middleton Technology School and Falinge Park High School. Since April 2008 CLCs have been delivering against 'Harnessing Technology' priorities agreed with Becta.

Both centres provide a number of exciting teaching and learning environments all supported by innovative educational technologies. These range from traditional classrooms with state-of-the-art ICT facilities and resources to smaller meeting, training and study areas all providing high speed Internet access along with specialist hardware and software supporting ICT, Creative Media and D&T.
